ReplyDeleteI dont think the key answers updated on the KPSC website for some questions are correct. KPSC has to look back at the answers sheets. Update the revised sheets so that the people who have made hard work get right marks.

The Probable cutoff may be
for GM - 250 and above
for Categories(2A,2B,3A,3B) - 240 and above.
for SC,ST,CAT-1- 220 and above.
But it is not 100% correct, it is based on their coaching attend students marks and from other sources.
May be it is true of not.

I scored 200 in both the papers. but according to above cutoff it is difficult to qualify for Mains.
As per information from my friends and others Many of the candidates scored marks within the range 220 to 240 marks. so the cutoff may be 230 to 240 for GM & OBC.

2) consider Approximately 1 Lakh appeared, then how can 1 lakh candidates marks know .
3) Only 7500 are eligible for Mains.

4)So many KPSC key answers are wrong it may vary the marks after the objection by the Candidates,and revised key answers.
5) Some body is telling SCAM- i think there is no scam at all this time, the paper is good, but it is not according to syllabus.
6) The paper is not difficult but the questions are not as per kpsc syllabus so it is difficult especially paper ii, no karnataka importance current events as mentioned in syllabus.
SO SOME BODY IS RUMOURS, THE CUT OFF MAY BE 250,240, 220 ETC.
REALLY THE PAPER LEVEL IS DIFFICULT, BECAUSE EVEN SOME COACHING CENTRES ARE UNABLE TO FIND THE CORRECT KEY ANSWERS, BEFORE KPSC PUBLISH KEY ANSWERS.
THIS PAPER IS VERY EASY TO THE CANDIDATES ESPECIALLY WHO HAS STUDIED RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND ECONOMICS SUBJECTS.

I felt that Paper II was difficult compared to Paper I. I could score 66 from Paper I and 55 from Paper II, and a total of 242, as per the keys published by KPSC.

As per answer key of kpsc was able to score 214 (paper1 106 and paper2 108 ) with less effort and i belong to general category , i never knew that there is no negative marking in kpsc, good. will wait for the result to choose subjects(history and agri/geo) and prepare , i know i will not be able to do well in main if shortlisted but experience of writing the main is worth it

According to my calculations
ReplyDeletelast year vacancies were 151, cut off was around 345/450(75%) for GM but optional subsjects were there and KAnnada Lit was very easy , hence students of Kannada Lit scored very good marks taking the cut off to 345
The year before that cut off was approx 290-300/450(65%) for GM optional subsjects were there and most of the optional were at the same level, and vacncies were 242(approx)
Therefore this year the vavancies are 352 and also no optional subjects(all are on same level) and considering the difficulty of the paper, the cut off should be around 55% for GM i.e 220/400.

ReplyDeleteguys my score is 248 according to the key answers released by KPSC on 27th and I am a GM candidate. One unfortunate fact of KPSC key answers is that there are many wrong answers given and I have filed objections along with proof for some 4 of them. I know still many of them are actually wrong when confirmed through internet but I couldnt gather any text book proof to show to the commission. I request everyone here that if they get hold of any proofs which contradicts the key answers of the commission, immediately file an objection.

I am not creating a panic here but thats a fact.. 2 of my friends have crossed 280+ and my belief is that many of them have done the same but we are not getting know of it only because they are not putting up any comments here instead they are busy studying for mains...

ReplyDeleteI know that many posters are trying to bring down the confidence of deserving people by unnecessarily exagerating the expected cut-off.
ReplyDeleteFriends, nobody can predict the acutual cut-off, not even KPSC can do this before evaluating the marks sheets. So keep you carm and seriously start preparing for the mains. Incase if you do not qualify this preparation will defenitely help you for the forth coming UPSC examinations. Have a positive attitude and hope for the best.

According to the Rao's Study centre survey
ReplyDeleteThose who has scored Above 200 marks in KAS prelims 2012 , have a chance to qualify for KAS Mains.
Both category and GM above 200 marks is safer side.
They predict kpsc FDA 2008 Survey the cutoff is 210 so in 2008 the cutoff is same as they predict.
Those who scored above 200 marks dont waste your valuable time start preparing for Mains Because
GS 2 papers, OPTIONS 4 Papers. Compulsory Kannada and English.
Start prepare with thorough .
unexpectedly if cutoff is more than your marks, your efforts will be useful for some future coming govt jobs like commercial tax inspector,Cooperative society inspector, Deputy tahsildar and sub registrar posts.

ReplyDeletelot of people above have been speculating a lot on the cut offs, never know what KPSC would set as, if trends are to be followed it is a tough ask for gm to clear prelims with 176 as score, keep fingers crossed and hope for best, if you clear you are eligible for mains with two optional subs of your choice and gs papers which are subjective hope that explains better for you
guys one of my friend without knowing the full form of KAS (figurative!) has scored 182... which means most of the questions were easy and a good intelligent guess could have got most probably a correct answer in the exam... now think of those who have actually prepared and written the exam without running on flukes, they have a very good chance of getting above 200 easily... so a seemingly pessimistic opinion here that the cut off will be between 240 to 260 for GM... anyways i strongly hope it will be below 200 as I have myself scored 196 and I am GM guy!! :(

I would not like to name the persons's name from KPSC who told me this, lets wait and watch if the revised answers are announced by 15th then he is right, i giving this information only since i think it might be useful for everyone. The cut off's for GM might be near between 200-210.

I dont know how 11 key answers are wrong.
the wrong key answers is for the following questions
1) Jinnanh demand
2) Gram panchayat is now 5627 ( previously it is 5628 but they should consider both the answer )
3) S&F Nifty
4) Six People A,B,C,D,E (ans E and F)
5)Silver or Selenium
6)Legislative council creation
7) International treaties is ratifications of constitution
8) Belgaum Conferences
The correct answers are
Taj mahal - petroleum refinery
according the verdict of Supreme court the petroleum refinery causes
major Air pollution problems to Taj mahal, the UP govt shifted all petroleum refinary around Tajmahal to other areas.
Gram panchayat - 5627 it is now correct ,but previously it is 5628
but 5628 as per karnataka vikasa magzines they should consider both.
So KPSC Consider the key answers, and try to solve the wrong key answers in revised pattern .

`ಗೆಜೆಟೆಡ್ ಪ್ರೊಬೆಷನರಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳ ಎರಡೂ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿರುವ ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕ ಉತ್ತರ ಪಟ್ಟಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 11ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ತಪ್ಪುಗಳಿವೆ. ಇದನ್ನೇ ಆಧಾರವಾಗಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳ ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನಕ್ಕೆ ಆಯೋಗ ಮುಂದಾಗಿದೆ.

The KPSC sent the objections of key answers to Subject experts, so it Take time.
Some body is telling it is 15th , it is just a Baseless.
The revised key answer will be released after 25th of this month.
and
Some body is telling only 1500 peoples are crossed 200 Marks it is also baseless.
I also got this information from one of my friend, he told there is no provision rules in KPSC to valuate the OMR sheet until Revised key answers is published.
SO SOMEBODY IS GIVING FALSE INFORMATION

ans: It takes around 20 days, we sent the objections to subject experts, they thoroughly check the
objections and their materials so minimum it takes 15 to 20 days after their recommend KPSC changes the key answers.
5) when is the result.
ans: 3rd or 4th week of June.

SOME BODY is talking about the reservation.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the our Indian constitution provisions reservation are provided to socially and economically backward people.
I am not a opponent of reservation,
But I am total opponent of Our RURAL Reservation which is not give justice to Rural candidates.
Ex:
1) A person who is studied English medium and Kannada medium Schools in rural can Rural reservation .
But person who is studied Kannada medium in rural is difficult to compete with the person who can Claim Same Reservation who studied English medium in Rural.
2) But Kannada medium students in Cities are only 1% of reservations.
They are not able to get the Jobs.
So my opinion
Cancel the Rural Reservation for English medium students who studied in Rural Area.
increase the Kannada medium Reservation, reduce the Rural Reservation.
If kannada medium reservation is increased it is benefited to Both Rural and Urban Kannada medium students.
I am supporting your opinion fully.

I agreed , why English medium students are getting benifit of Rural Resevation.
our kannada peoples are shouting for less students are joining to kannada schools,
if the kannada medium reservation is increased and rural reservation is cancelled definitely it is Totally benifited to KANNADA MEDIUM students (whether they are RURAL OR URBAN).

Marks matters. A good administrator is expected to have a broad knowledge of society & all social acitivities. If there is no sufficient knowledge and a aspirant gets selected then he or she becomes a pre-matured adminstrator. The aspirant who gets selected will be trained to certain level and not in depth. Aspirant will be placed on job direclty to handle social issues. So in all i would say a marks matters and comes only through sound knowledge of society & subjects.

1160 Total no of candidates are eligible to qualify for KAS Mains in PURE GM (No Rural, Kannada medium etc).
so consider 800 people scored above 230 but
In that 800 there is GM Rural,Categories , Women cat , Kannada medium is considered in their own category.
for ex: consider a person cat 3B Kannada medium he scored 270, then he is not considered as pure GM he is either 3B KMS or GM KMS.
So it is difficult to guess the CUToff now exactly.

ReplyDeleteacc. to me as per kpsc keys there are 8 answers in paper1 and 4 answers in paper2 are wrong.. and right now everyone got 2 marks for legislative council question...
ReplyDeleteguys im a kas aspirant my score is some where around 220 i belong to 2b cat.. one good news for all here is that from all major sources i got to know tat cutt might be 210 to 240.. and ppl who have scored more than 200 can be on safe side... all the best guys, if i clear prelims this year ill be the rank 1 over all :)
